 Length = 8.4 miles  Existing = 2 to 4 lanes  Milling and resurfacing  No additional travel lanes  Marked bicycle lanes throughout project limits on existing shoulders  Proposed sidewalk in Marineland  Implement Marineland Traffic Study Construction Cost Estimate ≈ $5 million Begin Project End Project North

 Provide 5’ bike lanes  Correct roadway cross slopes

 Provide 5’ bike lanes  Correct roadway cross slopes

 Keep 5’ bike lanes  Provide sidewalk from UF lab to Marineland entrance

Traffic Operational and Speed Zone Study Findings: 1. Pedestrian traffic signal at Marineland Entrance will be removed. 2. The pedestrian cross signs and crosswalk will be updated to meet current design standards. 3. Revise speed limit from 30 mph to 35 mph.

 The non-functioning traffic signal at the Marineland Entrance will be removed.  Remove the flashers from the advance pedestrian warning signs.

 Reconstruct existing sidewalk  Extend sidewalk to Marineland entrance  Tie into existing pedestrian features and walkways  Special emphasis crosswalk at entrance North Marineland Entrance UF Lab

During Construction:  Minimize Impacts to the Traveling Public.  Minimize Noise.  Minimum lane width shall be 10 feet.  Existing speed limits shall remain during construction.  Access to be maintained to all Developments during construction.

 Plans Completed Date March 1, 2012  Contract Letting Date July 25, 2012  Construction Start Late Summer/Fall 2012
