 Content Area: Social Studies  Grade Level: 5 th Grade  Summary: The intent of this PowerPoint is for students to analyze and learn about various aspects of popular culture during the 1920’s.  Objective: Given websites and videos, students will interpret information and answer questions about popular culture during the 1920’s with 100% accuracy.  Standard: 5.0 Students will analyze the involvement of the United States during World War I, the cultural, economic, and political developments of the 1920’s, and the causes and course of World War I.

FACTS, FACTS, AND MORE FACTS!  World War I was over! The 1920’s was a decade of exceptional economic prosperity. This is why we call the 1920’s “Roaring Twenties”.  The 20’s had a distinct culture in major cities such as Berlin, Los Angeles, and New York.  Women’s rights emerged and the 19 th amendment of the U.S. Constitution gave women the right to vote.

THAT’S RIGHT, MORE FACTS!  The 1920’s was decade of social and political unrest. In addition to the Women’s Rights movement, Prohibition was in full swing.  Henry Ford was a famous industrialist. He began the assembly line trend that revolutionized the production of automobiles, the most important product of the 20’s.
