FSILG M ARKETING /B RANDING G UIDE GOAL: To provide the FSILG community with marketing strategies that will allow members to effectively promote and represent their organization (and its mission / core values) to internal and external stakeholders. *Note: There are links available throughout the slideshow as resources and guides.

H OW TO EFFECTIVELY MARKET AND REPRESENT YOUR ORGANIZATION 1.Create an “elevator pitch” that encompasses the mission of your organization. 2.Consider your website layout and how it affects branding. 3.Maintain consistency with your national organization and throughout your marketing efforts. 4.Effectively promote your organization, events and activities. 5. Use available resources.

ELEVATOR PITCH Step One:

“E LEVATOR P ITCH ” Create a simple statement that represents your group. Consider including your organization’s values, mission statement, or motto for inspiration. Also, consider what is unique about your organization. Make sure that the statement is something that the members believe in/support. Encourage all members to memorize and be able to recite the statement.
