WARNING: TAKE ACTION Disaster Ready Austin Issued by NWS when a flash flood is imminent or occurring. It is possible to experience a flash flood in areas not immediately receiving rain. In the past, warnings were issued for entire counties. Since 2007, the NWS began issuing warnings in local areas, intended to warn only the locations and people inside the neighborhoods.
