 Live in mountain ranges in China, Suchuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu.  Restricted to the mountain areas-used to live in lowland areas.  Live in broadleaf and coniferous forests with a dense understory of bamboo, elevations of 5,000 and 10,000ft.

 Size of an American Black Bear.  Diet: 99% Bamboo, grasses, and small rodents or musk deer fawns.
