I MMIGRATION Immigration is the introduction of new people into a habitat or population. It is a biological concept and is important in population ecology, differentiated from Emigration and Migration. Emigration is the act of leaving one's country or region to settle in another. Migration is the human movement before the establishment of political boundaries or within one state.
