Three-Way Switch
Wire black (energized )wire from the breaker to the outlet
Wire black wire from the the breaker box to the common terminal.
Wire the black wire to the other common terminal.
Wire black wire from the common terminal to the dark colored screw on the lamp.
Wire the white (neutral) wire to the neutral bar in control panel.
Run white wire to the first box.
Connect White wires in first box.
Run white wire (neutral) to the second box.
Connect neutral wires
Connect neutral wire to silver colored screw on lamp.
Connect Black Traveler wire to the first switch.
Connect Black traveler wire to the second switch.
Connect red traveler wire to the first switch.
Connect Red Traveler wire to the second switch.
Connect Ground wire to the ground bar or neutral bar.
Run ground wire to first box
Connect Ground wires
Splice short piece of ground wire to ground wires and connect to box.
Run ground to the second box.
Connect ground wires
Splice short piece of ground wire to ground wires and connect to box.
Connect ground wire to the octagon box.
Three-Way Switch The following is how you attach the ground wire with a ground screw on the switch
Connect Ground wires just as you did before but the third wire attaches to ground screw.
