Epps Island Elementary Gifted and Talented Program Fundamental Goals for Gifted and Talented Program Epps Island is committed to providing the best learning opportunities for ALL students. Our mission not only correlates with the Klein Independent School District Gifted Education Program, but also in challenging and developing the abilities of identified gifted students. Our fundamental goal is to teach students at high cognitive levels and also to ensure that students learn in a safe nurtured environment. Gifted and Talented Program In order to help students reach their full academic, emotion, and social potential, Epps Island provides gifted and talented services to students in ALL content areas or subjects. The curriculum is not only compacted, but also differentiated by teachers in the classroom. The implementation of TPSP tasks and standards allows students to conduct scientific investigations that are open ended and related to college readiness. To learn more about TPSP, visit:

Parent and Community Resources We are also committed to communicating and providing resources to parents and community members. Parents will be communicated of their children’s gifted and talented services through a school letter. This document will be sent home every grading period and it will inform parents about the enrichment opportunities and learning opportunities their children participate in in the classroom. More importantly, it will inform parents about TPSP updates, activities, and due dates.
