Whose...? = Who does is it belong to? Whose + singular / plural noun + be + pronoun? Whose teddy bear is that? Whose books are those?

Possessive Pronouns are often used as complements. However, they can also used as subjects. The teddy bear is mine. / It’s mine. Mine is brown. Yours is blue.

Possessive Pronouns allow the speaker to avoid repeating the name of a noun already mentioned. Possessive Pronouns substitute a possessive adjective and a noun. Your hair is long. Her hair is short. Hers is short.

My sneakers are blue. My sneakers are white. Mine are white.

It’s her book. It’s hers. Whose book is this?
