To Protect Species, Should They Be Kept Bred And Captivity? Many animals are endangered for many reasons. But the question is to protect species should they be kept in bred and captivity. Endangered means that they are in danger and we could lose them and captivity means that are in zoo kept fenced in or in cages.

what kind of species are endangered What kind of species are endangered? Some species that are endangered are the giant panda and the green sea turtle, I am going to talk about these two animals as my example to the question to protect species should they be kept in bred in captivity.

How the giant pandas are endangered People are moving slowly into their habitat they are cutting down the bamboo forests In the 1980s and 1990s there were a number of cases of panda poaching Pandas are on for the well known species in the earth, but sadly they are almost facing extinction. Here are some of the things why they are becoming extinct: people are moving slowly into their habitat and when this starts to happen they lose their food supply and their shelter they are cutting down the bamboo forests, and when this happens there will be no more panda habitat and no more pandas in the 1980s and the 1990s there were a number of cases of panda poaching

About female pandas when they are in captivity Female pandas give birth to one cub every two years Female pandas are only able to become pregnant for 2-3 day each spring about female pandas when they are in captivity female pandas give birth to one cub every two years and when they are in captivity they say that it is really hard for the female pandas to breed because if the female panda doesn’t feel the environment can support her cub she wont breed. Female pandas are only able to become pregnant for 2-3 day each spring

Some solutions to help the panda Saving their habitat and food supply Not poaching pandas Keep them in captivity to help them breed We need to help the giant panda because they are becoming extinct by humans. saving their habitat and food supply by not cutting down the bamboo plants not poaching pandas because there is not that many left and they could be gone forever keep them in captivity to help them breed better

Giant Panda Living/ Lost In The Wild Each Year and Day Lot of giant pandas are loss each year and day because us humans are poaching them and taking there habitats but some are still living Such as: in 1985 and in 1988 1000 pandas thought to be living in the wild in 2004 and in 2011 there were the same amount of pandas living in the wild 10,000 panda loss each year because humans are killing them, cutting down their bamboo and just doing it for fun or not realizing that the giant pandas need that to live and survive. 1985-1988 1000 pandas thought to be living in the wild in 2004 and in 2011 they were the same 10,000 pandas are loss each year

Population graph Population of pandas compared to the number of years populations To show my populations in a graph I chose a line graph because its easier to see the change of pandas over time. This line graph shows that in 1974,1977 and 1988 there were 1000 giant pandas in the wild and in 2004 and 2011 there were 1600 in the wild also in 2006 there were 1600 and in 2007 there were 1590 in the wild. So in 2006 it shows that there were the greatest amount of pandas in the wild and in 1974,1977 and 1988 there were only 1000 pandas in the wild which is the lowest amount. Years

How the green sea turtle is endangered Humans are overhunting them Humans are poaching them Humans are egg harvesting them In west Africa sea turtles are killed for healing medicine The green sea turtle is one of the turtles that are on the endangered list. The green sea turtle are endangered because humans overhunting them humans are poaching them because they using it to eat humans are egg harvesting them In west Africa sea turtles are killed for medicine such as healing medicine for the people that are sick

About green sea turtles when they are in captivity sea turtles seem to do well in captivity Known only to survive in breeding programs or in captivity The green sea turtles in captivity do very well and they are known only to survive in captivity known only to survive in breeding programs such as or in captivity

Solutions to help the green sea turtle Not poach the green sea turtle or its eggs Do not egg harvest the green sea turtles eggs Don’t kill them for medicine Us humans need to find some solutions to help the green sea turtle Not poach the green sea turtle or its eggs humans use the green sea turtles eggs for eating so you should not egg harvest the green sea turtle because that’s how they get extinct. Don’t kill them for healing medicine Also WWF works with communities to reduce the turtle harvesting and they support programs to help the populations increase for the green sea turtles

Why is green sea turtle is important? The green sea turtle is impotent because they provide breeding and develop grounds for many species of fish such as shellfish. Without sea grass beds human harvest would be lost and would lower the levels of the food chain. So if the green sea turtles go extinct there would be a decrease in the sea grass beds and other species dependent on the grass beds for survival

Comparing the giant panda and the green sea turtle Only 1000 to 1100 giant pandas left Researcher say that it is hard for them to know how many green sea turtles there are because they live in the water Comparing the green sea turtle and the giant panda. So according to the researchers they that there is only 1000 to 1100 giant panda on earth and Researcher say that it is hard for them to know how many green sea turtles there are because they live in the water. The green sea turtle does very well in captivity but they say that the giant panda does ok but its hard for them to breed. The green sea turtle does very well in captivity but they say that the giant panda does ok but they researchers say that its hard for them to breed

Conclusion according to researchers they say that for some animals they do very well in captivity and for other animals they do not as well, like they say that the green sea turtle does good in captivity and they also say that the giant panda does ok but its hard for them to breed. So I would say that if we want to protect we should put the ones that do good in captivity keep them there but some animals that don’t do so well in captivity we should just let them be in the wild also because animals wont do stuff on there own such as they wont get there food and water on there own because the people who work there will just get it for them.

How We Can Help The Animals Not hunting them Don’t pollute there habitat if they live in trees don’t cut them down If they live in the wild don’t take them and put them in captivity We need to help the animals so that they don’t become endangered or extinct because of human activities create pollution, reduce habitat, cut into wildlife, pollute their habitat, reduce food supplies and from poaching and illegal hunting, we can help them by: Not hunting them because that’s how they get extinct Don’t pollute there habitat like if they live in the ocean or lakes such as: sharks, fish, turtles, dolphin and wale because they wont have anywhere to live anymore and by polluting the water it can kill the animals that live in it If they live in trees don’t cut them down because the animals need trees to live or to have food. If they live in the wild don’t put them in captivity if they don’t need it because then after a while and if you put the animal back in the wild it wont remember how to get their food, water or find their shelter because they will get used to the people getting them the things they need to survive.
