+ USING THE POWER CHARGER AND BATTERY MINI-DV CAMCORDER Connect the charger to the power cord Attach the battery to the charger Plug it in and watch for the light to flash Disconnect the charger from the power cord and take the battery out of the charger Task completed:____________ SD CARD CAMCORDER Connect the power cord to the charger Connect the other end of the charger to the camcorder Attach the battery to the camcorder Plug in the power cord. Watch for light to flash Disconnect all of the cords when the light stops flashing. Task completed: _____________ TASK ONE:

+ PUTTING THE MINI­DV TAPE / SD CARD IN THE CAMCORDER MINI-DV CAMCORDER Attach the battery to the camcorder Make sure the camcorder is turned off Press the open/eject button and open the mini ‐ dv tape cover on the camcorder The compartment will automatically open Insert the mini ‐ dv tape into the camcorder and close the steal compartment. It will automatically close. Close the mini ‐ dv tape cover Task completed:_____________ SD CARD CAMCORDER Attach the battery to the camcorder Open the LCD screen Open up the SD card slot cover Insert the SD card into the slot and close the cover Press the Menu button Toggle down to Media Selection and press in Press SD Card for video Then press Menu button Task completed: _______________ TASK TWO

+ ATTACH THE TRIPOD TO THE CAMCORDER Hold the middle pole of the tripod in your one hand and turn it upside down. Unlock each leg and pull the leg all the way out. Lock the leg and then go to the next leg until all three are pulled all the way out and locked Lock the center pole. Attach the battery to the camcorder and put the mini ‐ dv tape / SD card into the camcorder Unlock the base of the tripod and screw it on to the bottom of the camcorder Replace the base of the tripod on to the tripod and lock it. Straighten the camcorder on the tripod. Turn the camcorder on to camera and open the LCD screen. Using the lever, move the camcorder from left to right while watching the movement in the LCD screen. Move the camcorder up and down on the tripod Close the LCD screen and turn off the camcorder Unlock the base, disconnect the camcorder from the base by unscrewing it. Put the base back onto the tripod. Unlock each leg and pull the legs in and then lock the legs. Task Completed: _______________________________________________ TASK THREE

+ FILMING MINI-DV / SD CARD MINI-DV CAMCORDER Attach the battery to the camcorder Insert the mini-dv tape into the camcorder Turn the silver power switch to camera (red picture of camera) Open the lens cover Open the LCD screen Adjust the lens using the zoom button Press the silver button to record 15 seconds of film (zoom in and out slowly / pan the room slowly) Press the silver button to pause the camcorder Turn the power switch to playback (green arrow on the power switch) Using the blue and black joystick rewind 15 seconds and then play the 15 seconds that you recorded Turn the power switch to off Take out the mini-dv tape and remove the battery and close the LCD screen and the lens cover Task completed: _______________________________ SD CARD CAMCORDER Attach the battery to the camcorder and open the LCD screen Insert the SD card into the camcorder Turn the camcorder on Switch the mode to camcorder icon Press menu button Press the joystick (middle button) down to media select Select the video/sd card and press the joystick in Press the menu button again and you will see what you are filming through the LCD screen Adjust the lens by using the zoom button Press the silver button to record 15 seconds of film (zoom in and out slowly /pan the room slowly) Change the mode to playback which is a green arrow button Press the joystick and the operation icon will appear on the LCD screen. Using the joystick, click on your recording and play your recording. Turn the camcorder off, take out the SD card, close the LCD screen and remove the battery.
