ROOT WORDS (BATCH 1)
Root Word A root word is a word with roots in another language. They’re what’s left once all affixes (prefixes and suffixes are taken off. English words are most often ROOTED in Greek or Latin.
Prefix A word part that goes at the beginning of a root word to change the root words meaning. Example: re- in reaction
Suffix A word part that goes at the end of a root word to change the root words meaning. Example: -ion in reaction

Dis- Not; opposite of
A- Not or without
Im-/In-/Il-/Ir- (Different spellings based on the first letter of root word) Not or opposite of.

-able/-ible Can be; able to

-ed Makes a verb past tense
-ly Describes how something is done (makes a word an adverb)
