1. State of Illinois Digital ID Used for three purposes: 1)Authentication – so we know who you are 2)Digital Signature – allows you to digitally sign specific data or forms 3)Encryption – allows us to use your Digital ID to encrypt the data so that only your digital id will allow decryption. 5

State of Illinois Digital ID To obtain a State of Illinois Digital ID, go to: State of Illinois Digital ID Password Recovery Illinois Residents: Illinois Residents must register online Information must be entered exactly as it appears on your driver’s license or State ID. Out-of-State Users must complete a paper application Paper application must be notarized and mailed Password recovery process is different for Out-of-State Users. See User Guide for detailed information. 6

Register Vendor Roles – Agent Admin – Agent – User Admin – User Initial Firm Registration – Signature Authority – Agent Admin Role – Firm Name Must Match Tax Record Exactly Approval Process – Not Immediate – Notification Upon Approval – Change Vendor information Select Firm Manage Vendor - Change Vendor Information – Address, Phone, Fax 11
