Project Description Provide a introduction to Lean Manufacturing through a Kaizen event Kaizen events are a key practice of identifying current state of processes and analyzing opportunities to streamline or lean operations The Kaizen event is an ideal example of Project Based Learning

Project Description Participants will take an issue that has been identified and work through the problem using a variety of lean tools These tools assist in developing solutions and ways to improve processes At the Kaizen event participants will develop solutions, implement these solution and evaluate the solutions impact

Objective for Participants Introduction to Lean manufacturing through the use of Kaizen Develop understanding of Lean manufacturing using Kaizen event Participate in a Kaizen event Use various Lean tools Develop and implement solutions to identified issues Evaluate interventions impact

Learning Environment Cognitive Learning Environment Participants actively involved in learning through  Project Based and Problem Based learning  Cross-functional team associated with the issue to be solved Participants view Kaizen / Lean website prior to Kaizen event to  Develop a basic understanding Kaizen  Set expectations for Kaizen event Identified participants attend Kaizen event to work on solutions to identified issue

Kaizen - Lean Manufacturing Website Designed to give fundamental knowledge to participants prior to their attendance of a Kaizen event.
