MODULAR OR INTEGRATED? Ravenair is able to offer a comprehensive modular route. Full or part time. Total flexibility. Why do a Modular Course over an Integrated Course? Several factors to consider.

GAINING YOUR PRIVATE PILOTS LICENCE (PPL) Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) PPL Syllabus. Minimum 45 hours (national average is more). 10 hours solo. 7 written exams (approx 120 hours groundschool). -Aviation Law and Operational Procedures -Meteorology -Human Performance and Limitations -Navigation -Aircraft General and Principles of Flight -Flight Performance and Planning -Radiotelephony Full Time, dedicated Instructors. Pre flight briefs and debriefs. Training undertaken on Piper Tomahawk PA38. 3 in-house Examiners. Minimum age to log hours is 14, go solo at 16 and licence issue at 17.

NIGHT QUALIFICATION 5 Hours. Training undertaken in a PA38 or PA28. Pre and post flight briefings. Only part in your flight training where there is no test.

ATPL GROUNDSCHOOL 14 written exams. Wider variety and in more detail than what was covered in PPL. 2 ways: distance learning or full time months.

HOUR BUILDING In order to qualify to do a Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL): 100 hours Pilot in Command, Qualifying Cross Country - 300nm including 2 landaways - and a Night Qualification. Flying solo: confidence, accuracy and increase skills. Use time well! Fun and enjoyment! Ravenair offer comprehensive hour building rates.

COMMERCIAL PILOTS LICENCE (CPL) 28 hour course (includes MEP). Split between PA28 and PA34 or PA27. Introduction to complex aircraft. Prior to starting, applicants must have completed their ATPL ground exams. Course typically lasts between 4-6 weeks. 100% 1 st Series pass rate with our current instructors!

INSTRUMENT RATING (IR) 45 or 55 hour course. 30 or 35 hours in our FNPT II Simulator. 15 or 20 hours in the aircraft. Ground briefings. 170A Flight Test. IR Training Manual and approved checklists for aircraft. IR training is carried out under the supervision of ex Airline Pilots. Backseating. Typically course lasts between 6-8 weeks. Aim to produce highly trained Professional Pilots, with excellent first time pass rates.

MCC (MULTI-CREW CO- OPERATION COURSE) The objectives of MCC training are to optimise communication, division of tasks, use of checklists, mutual supervision, teamwork and support throughout all phases of flight under normal, abnormal and emergency conditions. The training emphasises the development of non - technical skills applicable to working in a Multi-Crew environment. Some airlines have recommended suppliers.

SO, IN SUMMARY Trial Lesson (30 or 60 minutes). Medical. Private Pilot’s Licence. ATPL groundschool, Night Qualification and hour building (from months). Commercial Pilot’s Licence and Multi-Engine Rating (4 - 6 weeks) You can now officially get paid for flying, within licence limitations. Instrument Rating (6 - 8 weeks). MCC (1 week). Job!!!

ONCE QUALIFIED : FROZEN ATPL What is a Frozen ATPL? (Airline Transport Pilot’s Licence) Once qualified with a CPL/IR ME and a MCC Qualification… Frozen ATPL is gained.

SO, WHAT NEXT? Not everyone gets into the airlines straight away - and not everyone wants to go to the airlines. Corporate flying. Flight Instructor Course. Private operators/owners. AOC, like Ravenair, which include Surveying, Charters, Aerial Photography, AOG, medical flights, light freight. Large cargo Eg. DHL, TNT and Atlantic Airlines.
