St. Paul’s Academy Ski Program 2014 A successful day in the mountains begins with you!

Keeping track of your things is not an easy task when you travel in a group!

Pack your backpack…. Gloves (extra pair if you have them available), Goggles, Hat Helmet and helmet hat! Extra fleece or sweatshirt to wear on the way home (no sweatshirts on the mountain) Lunch or Lunch Money Snack and a bottle of water Music for the ride up? Leave your video game at home, they are not allowed while riding the bus. This includes games on your I-pod!

Appropriate Clothing is a must….. Weather proof ski pants Weather proof ski parka Long underwear (NOT COTTON) Fleece top to go under your jacket. Do not plan to ski in: A Scarf or Hooded Sweatshirt

Pack the car the night before….The bus leaves at 7:30 sharp. Skis Boots Poles Backpack

Plan to arrive at 7:15AM fully dressed and ready to go. Drivers please don’t block the street. You may ride either bus but you must ride up and down on the same bus. If you require medication then you must ride on Ms. Donner’s bus so that you are transported with your med pack. Parents have the first 8 rows of Ms. Donner’s bus for reserved seating. Put your skis on the bus that you plan to ride and remember about where you put them so that when we arrive you can get your skis quickly. Do not leave them on the ground outside the bus. Carry your boots and backpack on to the bus and store them under the seat in front of you.

When we arrive at the mountain… Triple “B”….. Backpack upstairs on the top floor of the lodge…. Bathroom…. Boots…. and then get your lift ticket and get in line to pick up your skis. Move right along because your ski group is waiting for you. Meet your instructor out in front of the lodge. A teacher will be there to tell you which group you will start with. Be prompt! Everyone is waiting for YOU! If you don’t feel well then you need to rest in the upper lodge until noon, when you can join a group to ski. You will not be allowed to join your lesson late.

Instructors are really enthusiastic!

After your lesson: Return to the lodge for lunch (remember where you put your skis). You must be in a group of at least 3 during “free ski” time. Students in level 1 are in a full day lesson. Students in level 2-3 can ski chair 7 in groups of 3 but must be with a teacher or parent to ski any other chairs. Students in level 4 and up can ski in groups of at least 3 on any of the other chairs except chair 6. If you want to ski chair 6 get a group together and look for a teacher during lunch. The terrain park is off limits to St. Paul’s Students.

Lets talk about Safety!! You must be in a group of at least three skiers. Weakest skier in the middle. If you start together then you must finish together. Don’t assume someone decided to go off on their own. Encourage others to join your group.

Lets talk about Safety!! Be careful where you stop….are you in a place that can be seen from above? Do not ski through the woods. NO JUMPING!

Getting Home…. Return to the Chair 7 area at 2:30 Return your equipment and start loading the bus at 3:00pm You must ride home on the same bus that you rode up on. The bus leaves the mountain at 3:30 returning to school at 5:00.
