Beginning Founded in 1911 Founded by the Ivory Sisters Originally named The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Vivisection. It took up the work of the late Scottish Branch of the National Anti-Vivisection Society. The organization was renamed Advocates for Animals in 1990 in order to more accurately portray their work to protect all animals.

OUR VISION IS THAT ALL ANIMALS LIVE THEIR NATURAL LIVES FREE FROM EXPLOITATION AND ABUSE. Mission

Mission Continued- OneKind Campaigns OneKind Shopping  Advising customers to look at the labels of cosmetics, clothing, accessories and foods to make sure they are free of animal products and have not been created with animal testing. Whole animals are happier animals  Against castration and tail docking of lambs  Against beak trimming of chickens

Mission continued Get Sett for Badgers  Against the use of badgers in testing to reduce the incidence of bovine tuberculosis in cattle Vote for animals  Advising people to talk to their local government officials to support animal rights movements

Mission continued Snare-free Scotland  Against snares  Snares are stretches of wire used to catch wild animals, but cause extreme suffering Look out for seals  For more legal protection of seals in Scottish waters

Membership There isn’t an actual membership base, this was phased out years ago. Now there is just a broad supporter base. But the supporter base has been growing rapidly for years.
