AMERICA, WAKE UP AND PRAY

2 Chronicles 7:12-14 “The Lord appeared to him at night and said: ‘I have heard your prayer and have chosen this

place for myself as a temple for sacrifices. When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command

locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will

humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will

I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’”

GOD SENDS PESTILENCE UPON HIS REBELLIOUS PEOPLE.

In order to bring His people to their senses, God sends difficulties into their lives as a nation.

How could we expect God not to judge America?

And hasn’t He gotten our attention?

Financially

Oil Supply

War.

Terrorism.

Liberalism.

Socialism.

Bureaucracy.

And who is going to get us out of this?

WHO?

GOD’S PEOPLE MUST RETURN TO HIM.

If we are to save our nation, then the people of God have to slay four enemies of revival:

We have to slay PRIDE.

We have to slay PRAYERLESSNESS and SELFISH PRAYING.

James 4:2-3: “You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive,

because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”

We have to slay BAD PRIORITIES.

We have to slay PRESUMING ON GOD’S GRACE.

Charles Finney, a great evangelist, defined revival as “Nothing else than a new beginning of obedience to God.”

GOD’S PEOPLE MUST PRAY FOR THEIR COUNTRY.
