We know every sentence has a subject and a predicate. I love to go to the movies. “I” is the subject—who the sentence is about.

Sometimes subjects are more than one word in the sentence. My room smells fishy. “My room” are the two words that make up the complete subject. My family loves to fish. “My family” is the complete subject—who the sentence is about. My brother likes to skateboard. What are the two words that make the complete subject? “My brother” is called the complete subject.

Complete subjects can have even more than two words. The family next door to us swims in their pool. “The family next door to us” is the complete subject—who the sentence is about. What is the complete subject? “People all over the world” is the complete subject.
