Marking the International Year of Volunteers tenth anniversary (IYV+10)

“…Volunteerism is a powerful force that engages people in tackling development challenges. That’s why UNV promotes volunteerism throughout the world as a way to contribute to peace and development”

International Year of Volunteers 2001 UN General Assembly proclaimed 2001 as the International Year of Volunteers in recognition of the valuable contribution of voluntary action in addressing global issues UNV designated as the focal point for the Year’s preparation, implementation and follow- up 123 national committees were created Large numbers of stakeholders through internet at all levels (World Volunteer Web)
