 The Past Tense shows actions that have already happened.  Ex: Maria cried because Jack hurt her.

 To talk about the past:  She worked at McDonald’s. She had worked there since July. She was working at McDonald’s. She had been working since July.

 Put the verbs into the simple past: Last year I (go) to England on holiday. It (be) fantastic. I (visit) lots of interesting places. I (go) with two friends of mine. In the mornings we (walk) in the streets of London. In the evenings we (go) to pubs. Strangely, the weather (be) fine. It (not / rain) much. But we (see) some beautiful rainbows. Where (spend / you) your last holiday?
