Geography Absolute Location: 32 00N, 53 00E Relative location: Middle East, bordering the Gulf of Oman, the Persian Golf, and the Caspian Sea; between Iraq and Pakistan. How people move in/out of the country: airplanes, helicopters, trains, cars, boats. This is a map of Iran

History Khomeini gave a speech in which he urged the world’s Muslims to rise up against the superpowers. After this, he was arrested. Khomeini got his power to rule on Feb. 11, This is known as the magnificent victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.

Culture 3 Clothing: Clerics: a long black/brown robe. If they are descendents from Muhammad, they wear black turbans, otherwise, white. Women: A proper Islamic dress when they leave home. Most wear chadors. At home, they dress how they want. Rich Iranian women follow the latest fashions from Paris and Milan. This is how women usually dress

Culture 4 Clothing: Turkmen man: huge sheepskin hat Turkmen women: ankle-length silk dress of red or maroon. Kurdish man: baggy pants & embroidered shirt Ties a sash with a dagger around his waist. Has embroidered skull cap with turban on top. Usually wears sneakers.
