VAPOR RECOVERY, VACUUMS AND YOU Heather Peters, Environmental Specialist

How is the vacuum created? Tanks are “tight” Product is dispensed No air ingress or vapor return

Vacuum and the Drop Tube The “stick reading” at the drop tube may not be accurate! Are you sticking your tanks for SIR? Compare to the ATG product level ‘Equalize’ the tank

Vacuum and the ATG With vacuum, same amount of product but “level” is higher CSLD uses data over time Some data: –Under vacuum (reads high) –Not under vacuum (reads normal/lower)

Is this happening in all of my tanks? High throughput “Tight” tanks P/V valve not functioning P/V valve cracking under greater vacuum

Are my tests valid? Static testing should be okay Standard tank tests with ATG Tank tightness tests No reports of problems with interstitial monitoring and double wall tanks
