Recent Process Improvements: The way it used to be: The way it is now: NACO Award requests were mailed from FC or DCDR to DSO-HR then to BC-HRN. Award requests are sent directly from Member, FC or DCDR (depending on award) to BC-HRN. NACO Award requests were sent in paper form through entire chain. NACO Award requests are able to be sent online. NET reduction in processing time of 5-15 weeks.

AUX RSA – What is it? The Auxiliary Recruiting Service award is awarded for recruiting seven or more new Auxiliarists into the Auxiliary as determined and credited through the FC. It is an Annual Service Award It can only be awarded only once per calendar year
AUX RSA – Who is Eligible? Any BQ member (or above) who has recruited 7 or more members in one calendar year.
AUX RSA – What Counts? Recruited members must have: A.) Completed the New Member Course B.) Been assigned a member # by DIRAUX More than one member CAN recruit a new member. A calendar year begins on January 1 and ends on December 31.
AUX RSA – What Do I Get if I Earn it? The Annual Performance Auxiliary Recruiting Service Award uses the same ribbon as the discontinued AMOS Member Resources Award with an “S” device
AUX RSA – What About Multiple Awards? Multiple awards for subsequent years are indicated by adding 3/16-inch bronze or silver stars. See chart in Chapter 11 of AUXMAN for proper placement of stars on subsequent awards.
AUX RSA – How Do I Apply For It? Submission Deadline No later than 30 June for the previous calendar year. Member must have his or her Flotilla Commander (FC) submit the current National Form on their behalf. The current National Form is AUX-RSA and can be found on the National Forms website. All information requested must be printed clearly on the application.
AUX RSA - Chain of Approval Member submits request to FC Approval of the application by FC at the local (Flotilla) level. FC sends it to the DSO-HR DSO-HR provides final verification and approval DSO-HR forwards an INFORMATIONAL COPY to the BC-HRN as listed on the form BC-HRN enters information into national award spread sheet for documentation. DSO-HR forwards the ORIGINAL FORM to the District Director of Auxiliary DIRAUX reviews and approves and forwards the Ribbon, Medal, and Certificate to the appropriate DCO DCO presents to Recruiting Member at their chosen time (typically District Conference).

NACO Growth Award – Flotilla – What is it? The NACO Growth Award – Flotilla is awarded for achieving a NET GAIN of two or more Auxiliarists into the FLOTILLA applying for the award as determined by AUXDATA. It is an annual award It can only be awarded only once per calendar year
NACO Growth Award – Flotilla – Who is Eligible? Any Flotilla who has produced a net gain of 2 or more members in one calendar year.
NACO Growth Award – Flotilla – What Counts? Recruited members must have completed the New Member Course and been assigned a member # by DIRAUX A calendar year begins on January 1 and ends on December 31. ANY member added to the roster counts (i.e. new members, transfers, etc…) ANY member dropped from the roster counts against the net total for the year (i.e. transfers, retirements, deaths, etc…)
