What is it? And how to sign up for it?  It’s an easy, fun, and free online tool that lets you create animated cartoons.  To create an account, just go to and sign up for one. All you need is a valid address.  After signing up, take the quick tutorial and create your first Go!Animate video.

Advantages:  It’s free and it only takes a few minutes to create.  It’s easy to use. It provides script ideas.  There’s no need to draw.  There’s no need to download any software.  Animations can be customized by adding backgrounds, characters, voices, actions, gestures, add music, sound effects, etc.  All work can be previewed before publishing. You can have different backgrounds for each scene.  Videos can be shared in social pages and YouTube,a nd user can have his/her own video channel to share with other users.

Disadvantages:  Free accounts are limited to two minute video animations.  Need an upgraded account to download video file to your computer.  Some animations, backgrounds, and characters require an upgraded account, or are available for purchase.  Special characters from the language keyboard are not recognized by the tool.

Go!Animate & e-learning  Can be used to create real life scenarios to be embedded in e-learning courses.  For educators: this tool can be used as a review tool before a test.  For language learners: can be used to practice grammar, vocabulary, and speaking skills.
