RESEARCH, POLICY AND PRACTICE : Using Ground-Level Research to Improve Policymaking and Public Discussion

Kim Nauer Education Research Director Center for New York City Affairs, The New School o Center’s Role in NYC: Focus mainly on poverty and youth policy and NYC education system reform. o Important Expertise: Senior staff all former journalists, paired with New School applied policy grad students. o Audience: Focus on three-levels: policymakers, professional intermediaries, parents and activists. o Tools, Strategies, Results: Ground up reporting and Insideschools.org feeding research, events, partnerships, policy work, press and direct service.
