 SOURCED FROM WELL-MANAGED PERMANENT FORESTS  ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY  NATURALLY NON-TOXIC  DOES NOT REQUIRE PRESSURE TREATMENT AND IS SAFE TO WORK WITH  RUGGED PRODUCT  MORE DURABLE THAN SOFTWOODS IN TRANSIT AND ON THE JOB SITE - LESS DAMAGE  LEGENDARY DURABILITY  NATURALLY RESISTANT TO DECAY AND INSECTS. USED EXTENSIVELY FOR EXTERIOR FINISH IN THE BOAT BUILDING INDUSTRY  EXCELLENT ACCEPTANCE OF STAIN OR PAINT  EASIER TO MAINTAIN

 WEATHERS WELL  EXPOSED LUMBER REMAINS SMOOTH - NO RAISED GRAIN. RAW LUMBER AGES TO LUSTROUS SILVER-GRAY COLOR  CONTAINS NO SOLUBLE TANNINS  NO UNSIGHTLY BLACK STAINS OR “BLEED THROUGH”  CONSTANT SUPPLY  EXCELLENT WAREHOUSE INVENTORIES  FAVORABLE COST  LESS EXPENSIVE THAN MOST CLEAR LUMBER ALTERNATIVES

FACTORY PRESEALED MERANTI CAN PREVENT CUPPING & PREMATURE FAILURE. SAVE YOUR CONTRACTOR FROM CALL BACKS. CABOT AND M.R.S. HAVE TEAMED UP TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A MERANTI DECKING THAT HAS BEEN PRESEALED WITH A PREMIUM DECK SEALER. 1.Give the homeowner the properly finished product for the best performance. 2.Presealed all 4 sides & 2 ends. 3.U.V. protection. 4.Decreases moisture migration into wood. 5.Prevents mold & mildew. 6.You can put most topcoat products (Australian Timber Oil, stain etc.) on the Kangaroo Sealer in approximately 3-6 months. Consult Cabot's website for topcoat recommendations.

CLEARS ONLY PHND (PIN HOLE NO DEFECT)

1.UNLIKE MANY DECKING MATERIALS, MAHOGANY IS A KILN DRIED HARDWOOD. WET WEATHER, HIGH HUMIDITY, OR OTHER MOIST CONDITIONS WILL CAUSE THE LUMBER TO SWELL. ANY SHRINKAGE WILL BE MINIMAL. 2.BOARDS SHOULD BE GAPPED AT LEAST 1/4” TO ALLOW FOR EXPANSION CAUSED BY MOISTURE.

3.THIS LUMBER DOES NOT SHRINK OR SWELL FROM END TO END. BOARDS SHOULD BE BUTTED TIGHT END TO END. 4.ALWAYS RECOMMEND STAINLESS STEEL SCREWS.

5. TO MINIMIZE SPLITTING WHEN FASTENING AT THE ENDS OF BOARDS, DRILL PILOT HOLES. IF YOU NAIL OR SCREW WITHOUT PILOT HOLES, OCCASIONAL SMALL SPLITS MAY OCCUR. YOU SHOULD NAIL OR SCREW 3/4” FROM THE EDGES OF BOARDS. 6. ALWAYS ALLOW FOR ADEQUATE CLEARANCE AND VENTILATION BENEATH YOUR DECK BOARDS.

1.FOR BEST PERFORMANCE, SEAL ALL FOUR SIDES AND BOTH ENDS OF EACH BOARD PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. THIS PRODUCT SHOULD NOT BE LEFT UNFINISHED. IF THE PRODUCT IS NOT FINISHED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION IT SHOULD BE FINISHED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER INSTALLATION. 2.ALWAYS RECOMMEND A PENETRATING OIL BASED SEALER. SEALERS WITH MILDEWCIDES, FUNGICIDES, AND U.V. INHIBITORS INCREASE PERFORMANCE RESULTS.

1.ALLOW THE MOISTURE CONTENT OF THE FLOORING TO REACH AN EQUILIBRIUM WITH THE LOCATION. STORE THE FLOORING IN A DRY PLACE OFF THE GROUND AND UNDER COVER, BUT WITH PROPER AIR CIRCULATION FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. THE GARAGE IS IDEAL. 2.CHECK JOISTS AND SUB-FLOORING MATERIALS TO ENSURE ADEQUATE DRYNESS. THESE BUILDING COMPONENTS SHOULD BE AT 8 TO 10 PERCENT MOISTURE CONTENT BEFORE INSTALLING THE FLOOR.

3. INSTALL FLOORING WITH THE TOP SIDE UP. FLOORING IS NOT REVERSIBLE. A SMALL GAP BETWEEN BOARDS OR A V-GROOVE IS AN INDICATION THAT THE FLOORING IS NOT ORIENTED CORRECTLY. 4. PRE-DRILL NAIL HOLES THROUGH THE TONGUE TO AVOID SPLITTING. DRILL AT ABOUT 45 DEGREES IN PREPARATION FOR BLIND NAILING.

5.BLIND NAIL THROUGH THE TONGUE AT ABOUT 45 DEGREES USING A 7D OR 8D FINISH NAIL.

PRIME ALL SIDES AND EDGES BEFORE INSTALLATION (TWO COATS ARE PREFERRED). USE A TOP QUALITY OIL BASED OR ALKYD BASED DECK FINISH, WHICH IS SPECIALLY FORMULATED FOR WEATHER PROTECTION AND WALKING SURFACES.
