Out Doors and Underage By: David Kyle Moorin

Underage Abuse “The sweet, sugary alternatives to bitter beers and wines combine the sweet taste of Kool-Aid with the kick of malt liquor to create a taste that is particularly appealing to teens. The marketing for this style of alcohol also appeals to the younger generation. Even though the alcohol industry claims it is marketing alcopops to young adults, ages 21-27, far more teens than adults are aware of the advertising and commercials” (Alcopops- Sweet Danger).

Underage Abuse Many teenagers binge drink and it has increased because of these new alcopops When you drink you loose judgment and studies have shown that – “60 percent of college women who have acquired sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS and genital herpes, were under the influence of alcohol at the time they had intercourse” (Hanson). – “95 percent of violent crime on campus is alcohol-related” (Hanson).
