WELCOME The following slide show will show you several helpful websites that school professionals, parents, and students can reference when dealing with delinquency issues. I chose these sites because of the various content that is available and the simplicity of the website. I hope you find them useful. TAKING NOTES DOC.docx

DelinquencyPrevention.org DelinquencyPrevention.org provides families, as well as professionals with information on resources available, conferences, and funding information, that can be helpful when dealing with troubled youth. Some of the resources available are delinquent prevention resources, grants/funding, provides information on model programs currently available, and violence prevention TAKING NOTES DOC.docx

The E3 Power Center is a center that offers various services for teens that have dropped out of school or are on the verge of dropping out. Among the services provided are GED preparation classes, Job Readiness, and Life Skills. For teachers, counselor, and parents who see that they may have a teen at risk of dropping out of school, this program may prove to be beneficial to the student in earning the required educational certificate. The Troubled Teen Guide site provides various information for parents who are considering placing their child in an alternative school program, boot camp, or other out of home program. Unfortunately some children do not gain benefit of services that can be provided at home and parents are left with no other choice. It is our responsibility as counselors to support the families in their choice as well as provide them with any information that may be helpful in making that decision Of the sites provided, various have a benefit that can serve the counselor, teachers, and parents the same. Having this information at hand could prove to help address more issues together rather than on individual basis. Click HERE for virtual tour of websiteHERE TAKING NOTES DOC.docx

SEXetc is a site in which touches on all topics regarding to sexuality. This is a hard topic for some teens to talk to adults about; however, it is crucial to their developmental and social well being that they are provided with accurate information about their bodies, contraception, and other topics regarding sex. Conclusion As school counselors we are going to be faced with children facing different dilemmas in their lives. It is our responsibility as professionals to help our children live happy, healthy, productive lives. Remember…..IT IS EASIER TO BUILD STRONG CHILDREN THAN IT IS TO REPAIR BROKEN MEN…. ~Frederick Douglas
