Removal of hot equipment TCSC removed first and brought to B splitter2 magnets and 2 MDLV removed and stored in TDC2 Various beam monitors, BLM and vacuum beam pipes
Cooling and ventilation upgrades IEFC New chilled water pipes (200 m DN 200) New cooling coils in all AHU’s AHU cabinet (40 years old) quite in good shape Demineralized water circuit: 20 new valves Challenge: asbestos removal
Civil Engineering IEFC Repair of the TDC2 roof joints: 3 joints have been fitted with a metallic gutter driving water and bitumen to 3 retention boxes. Repair of the mezzanine floor: Resin flooring
Civil Engineering: drain network maintenance IEFC Contractor Vallier checked all the manholes and inspection chambers High pressure cleaning Cleaning water collected and RP checked before disposal Sludge treated as radioactive waste
Civil Engineering: various repairs IEFC New, extension of, repair to water collecting gutters Exchange of all remaining PVC pipes by PE pipes New drain connection
Heavy handling equipment IEFC PR544 maintenance and test Power supply rail (feeding TT20 for transport vehicles) has been removed from TDC2
Magnet upgrade IEFC One manifold dismounted in order to estimate time needed for future exchange Cooling flexible replacement completed in TDC2 (joints replaced) About 120 seals exchanged
Magnet upgrade Splitter rails and vacuum tank
Cabling activities Re-routing of 5 Cable trays (5x40m) Replacement of 70 DC and 42 control cables Installation of 10 new cables (new requests) IEFC Gangway Average 100µSv/h. Max: 500µSv/h Courtesy of I. Moya

T2, T4 and T6 target refurbishment In TCC2: Proximity cabling has been renovated Old monitors and target boxes remotely removed Dedicated shielded container for long term storage in B. 954 and 955. Re-installation of new monitors and target boxes currently in progress IEFC Courtesy of D.Grenier
Upgrade of 12 XTAX tables: Removal of spiral springs (screw protection) Jacks greasing Functional test of each tables Cleaning and maintenance of the base plates Realignment of XTAX4 XTAX table upgrade
Vacuum consolidation New beam pipes (100m) New ion pumps (10 units) Heated collars Vacuum consolidation
New TCSC collimator New beam instrumentation A few new units Maintenance of 40 beam instruments Collimator & beam instrumentation
Outline Objectives and schedule Completed activities Dose management & budget Conclusions IEFC
Dose management IEFC Operational dose Cumulated collective dose on = uSv
Maximum individual dose on = 2033 uSv # of participants: 362 Dose management
Budget IEFC
Outline Objectives and schedule Completed activities Dose management & budget Conclusions IEFC
Conclusions IEFC The TDC2/TCC2 consolidation activities are successfully completed, within schedule, budget and with no major problem. The corrective and preventive maintenance recently implemented will reduce corrosion of the vacuum equipment and reduce machine downtime in the future operation of the beam lines. Individual dose management has been challenging for some groups.
