We’ve developed our Tek-CARE ® 500 wireless emergency call system to enhance the service you provide to your residents. At the same time, you’ll find it’s the easiest and most efficient emergency call system you can use. Registers Registers The Registers are at the bottom of the Event Monitor screen. The five registers are used to view resident and transmitter information. They can also be used to add residents, to assign transmitters, and to determine which staff pagers receive event notification.

Patients/Residents Register Patients/Residents Register The Patients/Residents Register displays a list of residents, along with tabbed panes that display each resident’s information, assigned locations, and assigned transmitters. It can also be used to add or remove residents from the system. Patient/Resident Information fields are custom-created for a facility using the included LS450 Config Tool programming software.

Transmitters Register Transmitters Register The Transmitters Register displays a list of all transmitters and repeater/locators. Tabbed panes display each transmitter’s location, assigned resident, and supervision settings. The Transmitters Register is also used to add or remove transmitters from a system, and to assign transmitters to residents.

Staff, Groups & Assignments Registers Staff Staff GroupsAssignments Registers The Staff, Staff Groups and Assignments Registers are used to customize a system to send automatic text messages to selected staff pagers.

Text Messaging Using Tek-PAGING ® equipment, Tek-CARE ® 500 automatically sends a text message to staff pagers in response to a resident call. To send a manual text message, click on the Text Message button, select staff members, type a message and click the Send button.

Remote Event Monitor Remote Event Monitor The included Remote Event Monitor software connects up to 9 additional PCs running Microsoft Windows ® to the Tek-CARE ® 500 system via the facility’s local area network. Remote event monitors provide real-time monitoring of all system activity, create reports using a web browser, and send manual text messages to selected or all staff pagers (if included in the system).

Adding a Transmitter 1.Ensure that the Event Monitor software is running. If it is not, double-click the LS576 Event Monitor icon on the Tek-BRIDGE ® desktop and choose the appropriate network options from the splash screen. 2.Click the Menu button in the lower left hand corner of the event monitor window and select ES Traffic from the menu. 3.The ES Traffic window will open. At the top of the window, check the boxes labeled Hide transmitters already in system and Hide supervisions.

Adding a Transmitter 4.Insert a battery into the device to be added to the system, and then place a call. 5.In the ES Traffic Window, watch for a Device ID to appear as shown below. Select the call in the traffic list from the transmitter to be programmed, and click the Add transmitter to system button.

Adding a Transmitter 6.The Transmitters register (below) will appear in the Event Monitor. Verify that ES is selected from the Transmitter Family drop-down menu, and that the Device ID has been captured. If the transmitter will be used immediately, check the In Use box. 7.Select the appropriate Device Type from the drop-down menu.

Adding a Transmitter 8.For stationary transmitters, select the location where the transmitter will be installed from the Location drop-down list. 9.Pendant transmitters will be automatically assigned to the Mobile location. Select a resident to associate with each pendant transmitter. 10.Click the Apply button to add the transmitter to the system, and then reset the call from the transmitter. 11.Repeat for all remaining transmitters.

Adding a Resident 1.With the Event Monitor software running, click the Registers button in the lower right corner of the window. Click Residents in the Registers List if it is not already selected. The Residents register will open.

Adding a Resident 2.Click the Add button in the Residents register and fill out the information fields in the Details pane beginning with the Name field and any custom fields under the Residents tab. 3.To add a patient photo, click Add in the Image pane and browse to the location of the photo. Click Open to use the photo as the residents image. The image can be any of the following formats: BMP, JPG, GIF, or PNG. 4.Click the Locations tab in the Details pane and select a default location for the patient from the Default Location drop-down menu. If the resident’s default location is a two-bed room, select the Default Side that for that resident. 5.If the resident is to be assigned to more than one location, check the appropriate boxes in the Locations list below the Default Location drop-down menu. 6.Click Apply to write the changes to the system. 7.Repeat for each additional resident to be added. 8.When all programming is complete, run the Config Tool software, load the new system configuration, and save a copy for backup.

Reporting Tek-CARE ® 500 Reporting System The Tek-CARE ® 500 Reporting System produces custom reports about events that have been cleared from the Event Monitor. These reports provide valuable information to evaluate and optimize staff time. The information contained in these reports also provides accountability information to the facility for each zone, room, type of call and time period.

Reporting Options Reporting Options The Reporting Options screen is used to define the report’s parameters to create a custom report. Select or enter the desired reporting time period, shift, relevant calls (zones, transmitters, residents, event types), and response time. In the Output Types pane, choose HTML to open the report in the browser window or CSV to open the report in a spreadsheet. Then click on the Create Report button at the bottom of the screen.
