QUESTIONS
Key Notes When a mariner’s service or training started prior to March 24, 2014, mariners may be evaluated under the old regulations unless the mariner requests to be evaluated under the new. Tankerman applications where all qualifying service and training started after March 24, 2014 will be evaluated IAW the FR and this training. Acceptance of service on ATBs toward full Tankerman PIC may begin on March 24, 2014 as this benefits the mariners to do so and according to the Grandfathering/ Transitional NVIC all sea service requirements benefitting the mariner will be implemented immediately. Tankerman Assistant examinations for mariners who started service or training after this date required if no course submitted.
