Emirates Airline Update AGIFORS, Airline Operations Washington May 2004

A Year of Changes Implemented Avient’s MCS / CORE New Crew Rostering System – AdOpt Avient’s Crew Tracking System Integrating Systems Introduced ULH operations (DXB-SYD) 8 unbudgeted A s

Mission Management There is no such thing as an optimal operation or recovery There is suitability, prioritisation and minimising the impact of disruption – decision support What keeps or affects aircraft moving? A complete mission to manage What happens on the ground? Pre-empt delays, enable a recovery plan before a delay is a reality

Our Future – Managing Growth How do we turn the Emirates vision and plan into reality and minimise unit cost? Challenge the current norms Difficult when making record profits “Why change something that is proving to work?” Been manageable to date, but we are currently mostly reactive Introduce OR, gain acceptance and aim for a more proactive culture

Our Future – Managing Growth Airport capacity constraints: Parallel Runways, too close Not CAT3 Construction site Increasing number of remote stands Fast approaching problem – A380s
