ANIMAL TESTING FOR OR AGAINST? By Joel McShane

What is animal testing? Animal testing is when scientist experiment on animals normally to try and find out cures for diseases such as cancer. Many people are for animal testing although some believe that is causes pain and suffering to the animals used. Reasons for animal testing Animal testing has saved thousands of peoples lives. There are people to make sure that the animals are treated well in many testing centres. Its cheap. Insulin used for diabetes is made of sheep. Every antibiotic currently available was firstly tested on animals. Some animals are react more to chemicals, scientists use these animals to see if the chemicals are safe.

Reasons against animal testing  Animal testing can hurt animals, most animals are put down after being tested on.  Some drugs or medicines tested on animals might have no effect but on humans a large effect.  Something's tested on animals can torture them.  Animals have rights and should not be tested on.

My opinion? I am for animal testing although I believe it should be regulated. I believe some scientists take animal testing too far. Animal testing does save many peoples lives but also kills many animals lives so we should try and prevent the death of the animals we can save. Everyone has their own opinion what is yours?

Thanks for watching! Thanks for watching my power point presentation about animal testing, hopefully now you will understand more about animal testing and have your own opinion on the matter.
