Audio Tips A good voiceover can be very close to recreating the lecture experience WARNING: A bad voiceover can detract from the experience and be a barrier to learning Only use if it will add something to the resource! Take your time – Set aside more time than it would take to give the lecture normally – Find a style that’s comfortable for you – The first time is tricky, don’t worry! Find a quiet room Turn off your phone (and any other distractions) Add value to the slide – Don’t just read the content on display Have a glass of water to hand Use a script if easier Speak Clearly (use your phone voice) Don’t worry if you pause, or stutter – It will sound natural to the student Test the microphone before you start – If it sounds bad, you wont be able change it afterwards

Sound Check Microphone should be close to your lips but not touching Check the Volume on your computer (and on microphone) Check computer is plugged in at mains (not just battery) Turn off your phone!
