CUNY Rationale for e-Portfolio (1) One reason we implemented ePortfolio is to help Science Ed students understand in deeper sense how to engage in evidenced-based reflective practice to improve their pedagogy in the classroom. The ePortfolio would help science educators consciously reflect ( with evidence) on their professional identities. Teacher education programs have used eportfolios in multiple ways depending on the targeted objective or learning goals

CUNY Rationale for e-Portfolio (2) As part of the initial certification process, New York State and other states, are now requiring certification candidates to submit and electronic portfolio call the Education Teacher Performance Assessment ( edTPA for short). Science education candidate must complete the edTPA( Science Education) Basic requirements and the underlying purpose on sieving graduate students in terms of professional and scholarly research can be presented through an ePortfolio platform instead of the traditional format.
