Navigating Gilmer  Professor Offices – 1 st or 2 nd floor  Labs – Basement  Neuroscience Dept.  BioPsych Library  Secretaries  Mailboxes

Declaring the Major/Minor 1. Make sure you have completed the requirements necessary to declare 2. Locate the Psychology Declaration of Major Form on the Psych Dept site 1. TYPE ALL INFORMATION INTO FORM 2. PRINT 2 COPIES 3. Take both copies to the Undergrad Coordinator (Natalie Dawdy) along with a TRANSCRIPT AND COURSE HISTORY!

Requirements for the Declaration of the Major  2 completed Psych classes with GPA > 2.0  PSYC 1010  Other 2000-level course  Before the start of the seventh semester (unless you have taken 3005)

Required Classes for the Major  At least one of these courses:  PSYC 2100 – Intro to Learning  PSYC 2150 – Intro to Cognition  PSYC 2300 – Intro to Perception  **These are all generally offered every semester.

Continued…  At least one of these courses:  PSYC 2200 – A Survey of the Neural Basis of Behavior*  PSYC 2210 – Animal Behavior**  * - this course is taught in the fall by Prof. Brunjes and in the spring by Prof. Hill  ** - this course is listed online but has not been offered in the past 3-4 years

Continued…  PSYC 3005 and PSYC 3006 – Research Methods & Data Analysis I & II  Note: there is a prerequisite for these courses. You HAVE to take MATH 1210, MATH 1212, MATH 1220, MATH 1310, MATH 1320, APMA 1090, APMA 1110 or have transfer credit or AP credit in Calculus AB or BC

Some Other Details  Must maintain a 2.0 GPA  Cannot take courses CR/NC  Research/Internship/Directed Readings can only count up to 9 credits toward major  Only 12 transfer credits count toward major  No courses from outside the College count  Statistics classes cannot transfer as PSYC 3005 and 3006  A total of credits

Requirements for the Minor  16 credits (2000-level and above)  PSYC 3005 and 3006  One 4000 or 5000 level course  GPA > 2.0  No CR/NC courses  Research/Directed Readings can count for 3 credits  Up to 6 credits can transfer
