Comparatives Adjectives We use them to compare two people, things or places. Ex: Mexico City is bigger than Chitre.

Comparative forms of Adjectives Add –er to one syllable adjectives. If the adjectives ends in –e, add –r. Cheap—cheaper loose---looser If an adjective ends cvc, double the consonant before adding –er Hot—hotter

For most adjectives that end in –y, change the y-i and add –er Pretty --- prettier busy---busier To make the comparative form of most adjectives of two or more syllables, use more or less She’s less practical than her sister. DVDs are more popular than videos.
