What is Famine and Where is it? Famine is extreme and general scarcity of food in a country or in a large geographic area. Famine is found in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Mauritania, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Lesotho, and Swaziland.

Statistics In the Asian, African and Latin American countries, well over 500 million people are living in absolute poverty. Every year 15 million children die of hunger. That’s about 41,096 children dying per day. 923 million people across the world are hungry In the world, more than 1.4 billion people are earning less than $1.25 per day   

Why should we even care?! So many people are dying of a very preventable problem Famine is killing more people than it should be More should be being done about this issue

Who’s Helping? The Network for Good is helping feed the starving people in Africa An organization called Africa Aid is also helping to solve this problem Unicef is also helping the cause
