Varicose veins is a disease. Varicose veins most often occur at women. The desease leads to the formation of knots and the refinement of the venous wall.

Causes.  cause of varicose veins are: obesity, genetic predisposition, the nature of work and lifestyle.

Clinic. Heaviness in the legs, spider veins,tiredness, edema of the legs, leg cramps, hemorrhage, swollen veins.

Complications. One of the complications is trophic ulcer, as usuall on the inner surface of the lower third of the leg. Its appearance is often preceded by: dermatitis, eczema, painful itch.The ulcer is usually solitary, but may be multiple, and purulent.

Types of treatment.  -Sclerotherapy.  -Surgical.  -Conservative.  - Laser.

Sclerotherapy. Sclerotherapy, a method of treating advanced veins.The treatment is based on the injection of a special drug- sklerozanta. An injured vein narrows inside and stops working, and the blood starts flowing in healthy veins.

Surgery.  Is the most radical method for the patients with varicose veins of the lower limbs.The aim of the operation is the removal of pathogenic mechanisms that lead to the expansion of the superficial veins (the elimination of venous reflux). This is achieved by removing the main trunks of modified saphenous veins and ligation of incompetent perforating veins.

Laser treatment.  The technology of treatment of varicose veins using high-energy lasers has in Russia the name EVLK (Endovasal laser photocoagulation). It is the most modern and effective method of varicosity treatment. A laser fiber is introduced through a puncture in the skin under the control of an ultrasonic scanner, and placed on the length of vein damage.

Conservative treatment. -gymnastics, -healthy meals, -drugs, -compression hosiery..
