Career Transition Measures 3 Background Originally implemented in 2006, referenced in the Administrative Circular No. 2 to support staff in their job search and their employability, at the end of their Limited Duration (LD) contracts New programme offers support at an earlier stage in the career

The Career Transition Measures programme 5  Enhance the career prospects of staff members within and/or outside the Organization  HR Learning & Development for programme information and administration  Your Departmental Training Officer and your supervisor for information and advice on training  Your HR Advisor for any other request WORKSHOP 1 – A COLLECTIVE 2-DAY WORKSHOP TO ASSESS YOUR CAREER  When can I attend the workshop? From the end of your probation period until 3 months after the end of your contract  Who is the trainer? An external provider  How do I enrol? The workshop is available in the CERN training catalogue 1 Objective ONE TRAINING PROGRAMME INSIDE CERN CATALOGUE  When can I attend the training? During the last year of your contract, only if you have followed workshop 1 beforehand  How do I enrol? Select 1 course in the CERN training catalogue  Who bears the cost for the programme? CERN CTM budget (13000) ONE TRAINING PROGRAMME OUTSIDE CERN CATALOGUE  When can I attend the training? During the last year of your contract, only if you have followed workshop 1 beforehand  How do I enrol? Self registration  Who bears the cost for the programme? The Staff member OR WORKSHOP 2 – A COLLECTIVE 1-DAY WORKSHOP TO DEFINE YOUR JOB SEARCH STRATEGY  When can I attend the workshop? During the last year of your contract until 3 months after it ends, only if you have followed workshop 1 beforehand  Who is the trainer? An external provider  How do I enrol? The workshop is available in the CERN training catalogue 3 Key contacts 2 Content Up to 10 days of paid leave for workshops, training and job interviews (EDH request)

The Career Transition Measures programme 7  Workshop 1 – Career assessment  One training programme  Workshop 2 – Job search strategy 2 Content

Workshop 1 - Career assessment 8 -Topics: transition process, competencies assessment, CV, personal branding, interview process -2 days -Prerequisite to additional training and to workshop 2 -Can be attended only once -EDH training request (CERN catalogue) while still under contract From the end of the probation period up until 3 months after the end of the contract Staff members detached from another organization can benefit from workshop 1

9  In CERN training catalogue - Training programme to select within the CERN catalogue - EDH training request During the last 12 months of the contract Worskhop 1 is a prerequisite Maximum 10 days of paid leave for workshops, training and job interviews ONE training programme  OR outside CERN training catalogue -Training outside CERN catalogue (search, selection & enrolment by staff) -Training time allowed -Training costs not paid by CERN -EDH leave request performed by your DAO

Workshop 2 - Job search strategy 10 -Topics: job application analysis, employment markets, social networks, interview and personal image -1 day -EDH training request (CERN catalogue) while still under contract During the last 12 months of the contract up until 3 months after the end of the contract Worskhop 1 is a prerequisite

You are responsible for your career orientation and you need to be active throughout the whole CTM process (information on courses, enrolment, respect for deadlines and rules)
