Transforming Education Through Information Technologies About HACU HACU’s Mission: to promote the development of member colleges and universities; improve access to and the quality of post-secondary educational opportunities for Hispanic students; and to meet the needs of business, industry and government through the development and sharing of resources, information and expertise. 3 Categories of HACU Membership: Hispanic-Serving Institutions Associate Member Institutions International Member Institutions Currently, HACU has 253 members in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America and Spain! HSIs that are members of HACU are voting members of the Association. HSI members vote at the Annual Business meeting during the Annual Conference. HSIs have representation on HACU’s Governing Board. Transforming Education Through Information Technologies ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP An Associate Member of HACU is a dues-paid, non-profit, accredited college, university or system, where total Hispanic enrollment constitutes at least 10 percent of the total enrollment, or a minimum of 1,000 Hispanic students enrolled, including full-time and part-time students whether at the undergraduate or graduate level or both. Associate members elect regional representatives who can vote at the Annual Business meetings of the voting (HSI) membership. AMIs have Bi-Annual Meetings during the Annual Conference.
