PRESENTATION ON 4G LTE Submitted By:- Kanchan CSJMA11001390060 (U.I.E.T)C.S.J.M UNIVERSITY KANPUR (2K11)

CONTENT Introduction of 4G LTE about purpose why matter needs. Advantage and disadvantage Services – India and Asia Applications Technology and methodology Comparison of it with other technology Conclusion Reference

WHAT IS The term 4G LTE is really two terms:- 4G means the fourth generation of data technology for cellular networks ̶ following 3G, the third generation. LTE stands for Long Term Evolution and is short for a very technical process for high-speed data for phones and other mobile devices. Together, they make 4G LTE ̶ the fastest 4G service available today.

some other points 4G is:- Faster and more reliable- 100 mbps Based on UMTS 3G technology Lower cost than previous generation Multi standard wireless system- Blutooth,Wifi Coverage of wide area Wide variety of services capability Ad-hoc networking Ipv6 core and Optimized for All-IP traffic Only packet switching is used online previous generation

Why 4G ??? For customer:- For business:- Higher bandwidth enables a range of new application For customer:- Video entertaining , TV broadcast Video calls , video clips , news, music , sports Delivers enhanced real-time video and multimedia for a better overall user experience Enables high-performance mobile computing. For business:- High speed take working/VPN services Video conferencing, Provides a global ecosystem with inherent mobility. Offers greater security and privacy. Dramatically improves speed and overall network latency. Supports real-time applications due to its low latency. Creates a platform upon which to build and deploy the products and services of today and those of tomorrow. Reduces cost per bit through improved spectral efficiency.

Anytime ,anywhere ,connection Also known as “mobile broadband anywhere” One of the term to define 4G is MAGIC:- Mobile multimedia Anytime anywhere Global mobility support Integrated wireless solution Customized personal service

Why it is matter??? LTE’s technology advances help the company deliver improved wireless Internet connectivity and true mobility to its customers. LTE’s improved speed, greater bandwidth and lower latency help redefine the traditional office with enhanced productivity for mobile workers by offering in-office business applications and services. LTE allows improved communication features such as real- time videoconferencing, powerful wireless applications and direct-connect access to files and customer-specific applications workers need, when they need them most.

With 4G LTE, users enjoy extremely fast download speeds and therefore smoother streaming video, faster-loading websites, and (eventually) potentially better call quality. It’s faster and downloads more pictures, lets consumers watch movies anytime and video chat on-the-go.

NEEDS OF 4G LTE With the exception of EE, existing mobile networks have until recently been relying purely on 3G/UMTS technology, which is now 10 years old and struggling to cope with the needs of today's data hungry users. 4G/LTE (Fourth Generation / Long Term Evolution) is the next stage in mobile network development and provides users with much faster data speeds than 3G is able to. EE has been testing the waters with 4G since October 2012, and until just a few months ago had the market to itself in the UK.

Advantages of LTE

Some other advantages of 4G Usability , anywhere , anytime and with any technology Support for multimedia services at low transmission cost Higher bandwidth , high network security The equipment required tp implement a next generation network is still very expensive Carriers and providers have to plan carefully to make sure that expenses are kept realistic Some other advantages of 4G DISADVANTEGES OF 4G

4G services in ASIA CDMA(1XEV-DO) KOREA:SKT,KTF JAPAN:AV(KDDI) WCDMA/UMTS JAPAN:NTT DoCoMo,Vodafone KK Australia:3Hutchinson Hongkong:3Hutchinsoo 4G services in ASIA

Conceivable applications include:- amended mobile web access IP telephony gaming services high-definition mobile TV video conferencing 3D television Cloud computing

TECHNOLOGY AND METHODLOGY 4G, short for fourth generation, is the fourth generation of mobile telecommunications technology, succeeding 3Gand preceding 5G. A 4G system, in addition to the usual voice and other services of 3G, provides mobile ultra-broadband Internet access, for example to laptops with USB wireless modems, to smartphones, and to other mobile devices. Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a radio platform technology that will allow operators to achieve even higher peak throughputs than HSPA+ in higher spectrum bandwidth OFDMA(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access ) and MIMO(multiple in multiple out) replace CDMA spread radio spectrum technology.

SOME OTHER THINGS ABOUT 4G LTE Evolved hardware technologies + Improved network bandwidth = Entertainment apps on mobile

Comparison of LTE Speed

COMPARISION OF IT WITH OTHER TECHNOLOGY The phone would work on 2G, 3G and 4G networks seamlessly. This means with 4G technology, consumers can use the phone for calls and high-speed internet with a speed ten times more than that possible through 3G. The data transfer is not fast in 2G technology is the disadvantage of it. To overcome disadvantage of 2G services NTT Docomo Company was introduced the 3G services in the year 2001 with the data transfer rate is 3.1MB per second which looks to be faster when compare to the data transfer rate of 2G services. Now,  4G technology is coming with broad band service with an speed of 1 GB. 4G technological services minimum data transfer rate is 100MB.

Different technology in different generation

4G and LTE like any other radio communication standards , is base on the use of radio waves radio frequency(RF) energy to transmit and receive and data calls 4G and LTE is the next major enhancement to mobile radio communication network. LTE is a standard that’s part of evolution of 3G, which incorporates significantly increased data rates and better performance to enhance to mobile broadband experience Conclusion
