When a blizzard hits, kids can not go to school. A blizzard is a very bad storm. School will be shut down. Parents can’t go to work. People can’t go where they need to. Some people get stuck in a blizzard. -Caine Blizzards

Lightning can strike trees and they can catch on fire. Lightning can shock you if you are in the water. Ben Franklin discovered lightning was electricity. -Elijah Lightning

If a tornado is coming, you should go to somewhere without windows or go to the basement. Scientists see if a tornado is coming so they can tell everyone to get ready. -Kes Tornado

Floods can cause trouble for people. Rain can overflow the Mississippi River. Sometimes they rescue people and pets with boats. -Damon Floods

Hail can be large like a baseball. Rain mixes with snow and can form hail. Ice is made by rain that freezes. It can be hard to drive or walk. -Daron Hail and Ice

A hurricane can flood a town in an instant. It starts over the ocean and travels to the shore line, knocking down trees, homes, and bridges, flooding everything in sight. The hurricane hunters fly into the storms and warn everyone to evacuate. -Deziray Hurricane
