The HCG Diet By Amber Foster
What is the HCG Diet? 500 calories a day or VLCD Limited Food Choices Drops or shots of a hormone Limited use of personal items
How many Calories can you take in? 500 calories a day. Can be fewer but MUST NOT be any more.
How long will I have to do this? This diet was designed to last from 26 days until 40 days. No one should go over 40 days. If one feels that not enough weight was lost, he must wait 6-8 weeks to go again.
Will I be hungry? Might be the first week Must drink lots of water High fiber diet. (30 grams or more a day) Colon cleansing
What can I eat? See attached menu. Understand these items are omitted: Dairy, salmon, tuna, starchy veggies, and some important fruits
What is HCG? Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin This is a hormone produced in pregnant women But, a small trace is found in both males, and non pregnant females
How much HCG do I take? It needs to be units of the hormone. Can be shot or drop.
Why use HCG? Since you are only allowed 500 cal, which is not enough to maintain brain function, the body has to be “tricked”. The hormone causes the hypothalamus to break up the excess fat cells. This makes the body think it has thousands of calories and not just 500.
Can you not just eat 500 calories without the hormone? Sure, but when you do that, or any VLCD diet, the calories do not come from fat storages, it comes from muscle and organs. Why would you deprive your body that long without food or supplementation?
Can anyone use the hormone? Again- it is suppose to be ONLY for the severely overweight or obese. However, most doctors will not write a prescription because it is not approved by the FDA.
So… How do you get HCG In the states only by prescription. If you don’t have a prescription, FDA allows a three month supply from overseas.
What about Men? Men, and non pregnant women, have trace amounts of this hormone anyway. Even though pregnant women have a larger amount, men can still take the supplement. The supplement is in small amounts and made in a laboratory.
Limited use of personal items Certain medications Only lipstick, eyeliner, and some POWDERS are permitted No creams or lotions Be careful of massages
How much weight will be lost? 1-3 lbs. a day. For around lbs. No more then 15lbs past 40 days.
Will you gain the weight back? Typically no, “as long as”, you watch what you eat after you stop, and you do 20 minutes of activity a day. Diet is meant for a boost.
What does it cost? Anywhere between 10 dollars and 100 dollars depending on shipment, drops vs. shots, and needles.

So…. What is wrong with the diet? The menu: Do people really want to eat some of these foods? Shrimp high in cholesterol Why does our body crave certain foods? Are you really losing water weight?
So…. What is wrong with this diet? Problems with injecting hormones in body: Cancer Organ failure
So…. What is wrong with this diet? If only suppose to be for obese, why can you only lose 15lbs?
So…. What is wrong with this diet? FDA does not approve it. Could only find a handful of doctors who support (no dieticians, no nutritionists, no scientists)
So…. What is wrong with this diet? No counseling. Only advice is to watch what you take in and possibly get 20 minutes of exercise a day Not getting to real problem of being overweight
DR. OZ Although you will lose weight on the diet, you won’t keep it off. HCG injections don’t work. Very low-calorie diets lead to health issues down the line. HCG is a placebo for weight loss. Homeopathic HCG drops don’t work.
Dr. Oz thinks… Should give it a try
