THE LOCATION  The Yuan dynasty extended into parts of India, Russia, all of china and part of Korea

THE LEADERS WHAT IS A DYNASTY The ruling family were the Khans. Genghis Khan and Kublai Khan were the main leaders. A dynasty is a ruling family. They may rule one country(China for example) or have an empire like the Mongols. This is Kublai Khan This is Genghis Khan

THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS I  The accomplishments of the Yuan are many, they diversified China  Travel was frequent and at this time inventions such as playing cards and block print first reached Europe  They made advancements in scientific education and for the first time medical literature reached Europe

ACCOMPLISHMENTS CONT. II  They made advancements in cartography (mapmaking)  Porcelain first reached Europe  They rebuilt plumbing systems and roads along with irrigation systems  They even built granaries to prevent famine

THE FALL OF YUAN  The Mongols that were still in Mongolia thought the Khans (the rulers of the Yuan dynasty) had become to Chinese  The Chinese never excepted the Yuans as a legitimate dynasty  Finally a rebel army led by the peasant Chu Yuan- Chang over thru the Yuans driving them back to Mongolia. So began the Ming dynasty

THINGS OF INTREST  Genghis Khan was a very cruel person.  The Khans ruled China like bandits  Marco Polo came to China during this period.
