Purpose To report a new approach for ectatic corneas with creating tunnel for INTACS and pocket for riboflavin administration using Femtec Femtosecond laser. To report a new approach for ectatic corneas with creating tunnel for INTACS and pocket for riboflavin administration using Femtec Femtosecond laser.
Methods Intrastromal tunnels created in 70% of corneal depth, followed by corneal pocket creation in 100 micron depth Intacs placement combined with UVA irradiation after intrastromal injection of 0.1% riboflavin.
Results Four eyes of three patients had combined approach of Intacs and cross-linking treatment. All of them had significant reduction in keratometry values and spherical equivalence. Before :-0,75( ) Patient No 1. After ( 4 months): -0,25(20 -1,75)
Patient No 2. RE/Before: -10,0 (5 -3,75)After (8 months): -5,0(170-3,0) LE/-11,0(180-3,25) (6 months);-2,50(155-3,0)
Conclusion This new combined procedure This new combined procedure - Simple - No epithelial debridement for CXL - Combined effect of INTACS and CXL - Significant reduction in keratometry values and spherical equivalence values and spherical equivalence
