WELCOME TO THE SECOND FLIE MEETING! Topic: Fall Executive Board Positions

Executive Board Responsibilities*  Initiate activities of FLiE  Maintain communication between committee members  Hold separate, weekly meetings with Executive Board and Committees  Review a short leadership book and lead a discussion with all of FLiE about said book

Secretary  Take and meeting minutes to members  Record Attendance  Will notify members if they have received an unexcused absence  Responsible for ordering and distributing FLiE T- shirts

Treasurer  Manage FLiE’s budget  Pick up FLiE’s mail from COA office  Prepare Spring allocation presentation  P-Card Holder  Make purchases for FLiE activities  Required to complete two trainings:  General Treasurer’s training  P-Card training

Communications Chair  Maintain and develop FLiE webpage  Take pictures of all members, committees, and build groups (for float)  Put pictures on FLiE webpage  Ensure events are documented  Take pictures  Post pictures and brief descriptions on FLiE webpage

Events Chair  Coordinate activities for FLiE members  Fundraising events Ex. Working concessions at Hilton during a basketball game  Social events Ex. Group dinner at UDCC, ice skating at Ames ice arena  Work with VEISHEA Co-Chairs to coordinate FLiE’s VEISHEA participation

Outreach Chair*  Make FLiE visible to the College of Engineering and ISU student body  Develop a relationship between FLiE and the community through events such as Middle School Day and Engineering Day at the Mall  Provide advertisement and publicity for FLiE events  Organize charitable fundraisers such as hot chocolate sales

Tutoring Chair  Set up a relationship with Ames Middle School Tutoring and Mentoring Program  Participate on a weekly basis  Encourage member participation  Set up study groups for FLiE members

VEISHEA Co-Chairs  Will be elected later in the semester (November)  Responsible for organizing the design and construction of the College of Engineering’s VEISHEA float, including:  Overseeing build groups  Communicate with VEISHEA officials  One co-chair will receive a P-Card and will be responsible for purchasing float supplies along with the Treasurer

Elections Next Week!  Come prepared with a speech explaining:  What position you are running for  Why you are qualified  What you plan on doing if elected [Ex. Goals]  Positions will be elected in the order they were presented  You can run for more than one position (but you cannot be elected to more than one position)
