Verbal Bullying

Verbal bullying Verbal bullying occurs when someone uses language to gain power over his or her peers.

Steps to stop bullying 1. Make the bully look weak by pretending they are not even there. 2. Don’t listen to rumors about what they are saying. 3. Tell a teacher, an adult, or your parent 4. Walk away if the bully is insulting you to your face, this makes the bully feel weak.

Physical Bullying

Physical bullying is a serious problem affecting not only the bully, but also the other students who witness the bullying. Parents, teachers, adults and young people should be aware of what physical bullying is and ways to handle it. There are many types of physical interactions that can occur between young people, including fighting, practical jokes, stealing, and harassment. These things are not considered physical bullying unless the same victim is targeted repeatedly The bully or bullies intend to hurt, embarrass, and intimidate the victim.

Physical Bullying hitting kicking slapping pinching biting poking choking

Emotional Bullying

Emotional bullying refers to a person being made to feel isolated and ridiculed largely through teasing, shouting, mocking, and ignoring. Emotional bullying does not involve physical contact. Emotional bullying happens among children. There is usually no rhyme or reason why some children are victims other than random choice of the bully.

Emotional Bullying Emotional bullying has been seen in a variety of relationships including child friendships, teenagers, and coworkers.

Statistics In a recent survey, 72% of boys and 68% of girls said that they had been bullied at school. The good news is that 90% of the students said they wanted to help stop the bullying. 25% of student victims reported they were bullied about their race of religion. Chronic victims of bullying, bullied once a week or more, generally constitute between 8 and 20 percent of the student population.

About bullying One of the reasons for bullying includes frustration. Bullying is categorized into three types- physical, verbal, and emotional. Bullying can hurt everyone. Speak up against bullying.
