Listen to the wise man :  INNOVATION (usually) leads to ECONOMIC GROWTH…  One of the numerous pillars of Innovation is INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY…  In this very COMPETITIVE WORLD, our firms, especially the SMEs, need to adopt an innovative policy and / or a business development strategy  The PARIS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE supports all enterprises in the Paris Region, including those related to technological clusters (« poles de compétitivité »). 600 high- tech and industrial companies are served by Paris CCI services every year  ARIST PARIS supports entreprises that innovate by introducing new products or new (or improved) processes within the company

INNOVATION AS A PRIORITY FOR CCIP PARIS CCI publications and white papers include: “Innovation in Ile-de-France and the Lisbon Strategy (2008) “32 priorities to help SMEs innovate in Ile-de-France (2007)” “How to fight more efficiently against counterfeiting (2007)” “Major scientific and technical sectors in Ile-de-France” (2006)… PARIS CCI also developed a legal observatory dedicated to intellectual and industrial property (IRPI) And EEN (European Enterprise Network) is part of Paris CCI and gets financial support from EU (600 K€) to help firms in technology transfer Innovation is a subject taught in Paris CCI management schools such as ESCP-EAP, HEC or ESIEE, which is for engineers

ARIST PARIS IS ACTING FOR INNOVATION ARIST Paris is the Regional Agency for Strategic and Technological Information A member of a national network of 20 offices, generally located in CCIs Established in the early 80’s ARIST Paris is located in central Paris, in the Paris Chamber of Commerce (CCIP) ARIST is a dedicated team of 12 people Consultants and analysts specialised in intellectual property (IP) regulations and business development ARIST Paris performs approx. 100 services to technological firms per year, considering its market is not much larger than 3000 enterprises in the Paris Region In addition to ARIST Paris, there are also 4 specialists in the EEN and 1 specialist per territorial department (4 territorial departments are covered by CCIP)

ARIST Paris : MAIN OBJECTIVES To help SMEs understand their business environment and identify potential expansion opportunities : using business intelligence tools is now a necessity for our firms, if they want to compete and grow To advise SMEs on strategic innovation and how to optimise technological advantage in a highly competitive market : as part of the assets, intellectual property must be protected

PROMOTING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY… Who is it aimed at? Innovative SMEs who have not yet registered patents (or haven’t in the last 5 years) Innovative SMEs who participate in a technology cluster (pôle de compétitivité) Innovative SMEs supported by a state- run business incubator Programmes are 100% funded by INPI (national bureau for IP) What is it for ? The aim is to help businesses incorporate Intellectual property in their strategic plans: Patent and Brand registration International expansion Employee inventions Contracts on outsourcing, co-production, confidentiality, licencing, shared R&D... We also offer specific services - priority brand or patent research - technological or competitive watch - Technological position and Strategic analysis…
